This year, Centurion Truck Rental is again proud to support Ronald McDonald House Charities UK by transporting essential equipment to the Vila Sol Golf Resort in Portugal for the annual Leisure Classic. As one of the charity’s largest fundraising events, the Leisure Classic raises vital funds to help families stay close to their children while they receive hospital care.
Ronald McDonald House Charities UK provides free ‘home away from home’ accommodation to families with children in hospitals across 14 Houses in the UK. In 2023, the charity supported 8,415 families who stayed an average of 16 nights, often miles away from home.
A personal connection
For Warren Fletcher, MD of Centurion Truck Rental, the event holds special significance. After experiencing the charity’s invaluable support firsthand when his own son fell ill, Warren feels privileged to give back.
“Staying at a Ronald McDonald House was a lifeline for us during one of the most stressful times of our lives. To now be in a position to help the charity through our business is incredibly rewarding.”
Warren’s oldest son, actor-turned-farmer Kelvin Fletcher, is also attending the event. He shared:
